A New Leaf

-A New Leaf-
Hello once again. It's been four weeks since New Year's day and I bet most New Year's Resolutions are on the verge of failure. Mine isn't doing too bad, get organized and stay that way. I decided to start writing the RS Report every week. Hopefully I can keep up with it. Things have changed. It's all about gaming now, since that's the only thing I can write about without losing focus. Sad right? No it's not. Hopefully people read the thing.

My name's Eric Prater. I try to be educated on the stuff I'm talking about, I own a PS3 and a DS, but I don't dislike any system. Anyone stupid enough to argue for a company without getting paid is a moron. Now that the intro is out of the way, lets get on with the festivities.

-Hell is in Cydonia-
Guitar Hero 3 came out about 3 months ago, I bought it shortly after launch for one reason only. Boss Battles. The fact that you could battle Slash, Tom Morello, and the Devil himself was the only reason why I bought it. Granted now that I have played it I'm shocked that I've been missing out, but I'll skip this stuff. I'm sure most of you have heard enough of how Guitar Hero is awesome. (but in my opinion not even close to playing a real guitar, haha)

Anyways one of the songs that I became hooked to is Muse's "Knights of Cydonia." Mainly because of it's Old West inspiration and its catchy chorus "No one's gonna take me alive/The time has come to make things right/You and I must fight for our rights/You and I must fight to survive." What started as adoration quickly became anger and frustration as that song is tricky stuff. I just don't know why, I've always had a problem with that song. It was the last song I beat on normal (bonus songs excluded) and the last I 5-starred on normal as well. Now that song is standing in the way of my Hard campaign. I can't seem to master the whole thing. I will learn a part, nail it, then screw up another. I almost broke my guitar (and my neck, damn guitar strap) throwing it after getting 95% and screwing up what essentially should have been a gimme section. I will beat that song, if it's the last thing I do.

Ironically, as I was typing this a storm went through the Louisville area and my internet access went offline for awhile, so I played GH and you know what? I beat the damn song! Haha take that! I then beat Cult of Personality, and was riding high, until Raining Blood by Slayer knocked me into place. Well you win some you lose some.

Anyways that's all for this. 'Til next time, ladies and gents.

The RecSpec List, current stuff that wont leave me alone. GET OFF!!

Favorite Game: Advance Wars: Days of Ruin (DS) This game gets so much right, it's amazing, enough said.

Favorite Character: Waylon (AW:DOR) Waylon is pure scum, simple as that. He puts himself above anyone else and is not afraid to play dirty to get what he wants. Usually that is money and other things of luxury. Yet I think he is great. His awesome theme song. His cool quotes, and his attitude make him a very memorable character.

Favorite Quote: Waylon (AW:DOR) "Guess I'll make like a bakery truck and haul buns! Later! Whoooooooooo!" A metaphor so absurd, yet so hilarious.

Favorite Song: Proud Soldier-Gage (AW:DOR) As much as I like Waylon, Gage has the best song on Days of Ruin. It's very cool. It seems familiar but I can't quite put my finger on why...

Current Ringtone: Flight of The Coward-Waylon (AW:DoR) Yeah Days of Ruin sweeps this section. Waylon's theme suits him perfectly, over the top and in your face. Love this song.
